Created Out of Boredom?

As I reflect on my life and why God has created me, I am reminded that God did not create us out of boredom. He was very intentional concerning every step He took concerning each and every one of us. He had a plan and purpose for us before He started forming us in our mother’s womb. The same goes for any marriage ordained by God. God is so intentional about it. Marriage is more than just having sex or giving birth to children. It is way bigger than that. Marriage is a union between two people of purpose, fusing together to achieve a purpose ordained by God in pointing souls back to His kingdom of light.

The Core

There was a certain workout my personal trainer asked me to perform, which I was finding very challenging completing. As she observed my struggle with it, she asked me to stop and revealed why I was finding it so challenging. She mentioned that such exercise requires my core muscles to be strengthened. Without the core muscles being strengthened, there were some exercises that I would find challenging to complete because of their dependence on the core strength. Our body’s core is the center of our gravity, that provides stamina and balance. A weakened core means weakened stamina and balance. Our identity, which is the foundation of who we are and our self-worth, needs to be on a solid foundation. An identity built on what we do, what we have achieved, who we are with, what we have is an unsustainable, shaky foundation, which can easily change without notice but knowing who we are in Christ Jesus, is a solid foundation that is immovable.

Love Protects

We have a painting on love in our bedroom and one particular day, an aspect of that painting jumped out to me. It read “Love Protects”. As I pondered on this statement and recalled what 1 John 4:8 says about God being love, I decided to replace the word “love” with “God”, which read as “God Protects”. I was super excited because I was reminded of one of my favourite scriptures in Isaiah 52:12. I love this scripture because the best person to watch and have our back is the Almighty God Himself. This includes our marriage and family.

Not By The Wayside

It was so sad to see the way Rachel’s life ended despite all the struggles she had gone through, only to die by the wayside, while a few distances from her destination. To wives, when those suggestions come for you to use your own hand to destroy what you have built through your words or deeds, please rebuke those demonic suggestions. The bible says “Every wise woman encourages and builds up her family, but a foolish woman over time will tear it down by her own actions.” (Proverbs 14:1 TPT).  The reason a  foolish woman tears down her home is not necessarily because she intended to do so from the beginning, but every action she took led towards such destruction.

The Law of Reflection

Have you come across some kids that want to take a pose just like their dad or mum? The same thing happens with what you do and who you are. Children reflect and mirror who you are (your personality, your values, your attitude, your temperament etc) and what you do (your conduct, actions, behaviour). Someone once said, “you look like what you look at”.

Counting Your Blessings In A Pandemic

During this pandemic, it could be challenging to find reasons to be thankful as the reasons to panic and become fearful scream so loud, that it can get so overwhelming but it is time to scream louder than the fear and panic flying around. Psalms 103 reminds us to bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits. There are so many blessings in the midst of this storm that can be easily missed and it is time we remind ourselves what they are.

Rekindling the Sparks During a Pandemic

With the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting the world, some of the precautionary measures taken amongst others are staying at home and though this is a situation that should be taken seriously and my prayer goes out to those affected by the virus, I believe that in every situation, there is always a silver lining, though it may be challenging to find at times. This is an excellent opportunity for families to bond and have time to engage in activities that they might not have been able to under normal circumstances. For married couples, this is an amazing opportunity to get to know your spouse on a deeper level and rekindle the sparks! It’s time to spice things up!

The Little Foxes

I came across a video clip where some seals were on the seashore and they started running towards the sea. As some kayakers at the seashore watched, they noticed a fishing line around the necks of one big seal and two little seals. After a while, the kayakers got them in a more conducive position to cut off the fishing lines around their necks with a knife they had. As I pondered on this touching clip, the Holy Spirit began to teach that some married couples are like those two little seals joined together by the fishing lines. Many couples are suffering in silence in their marriages. No one knows the pains, hurts, wounds, resentments they are experiencing.

Is Your Home A Prison?

It was very heartbreaking to me when I came across Jeremiah 37:15 that shows the state of many marriages today. The officials had interfered and converted a home that was meant to be a safe haven into a prison. Many marriages have been converted to prisons filled with pain, sorrow, and bitterness because of the invasion of some wrong companies.

The Flickering Light

In our bathroom, there is a set of four lights by the sink area. One day, I noticed one of the lights flickering and it suddenly went out. After a few minutes, it came back on again. It kept repeating this pattern but every time that particular light went out, the brightness in the bathroom reduced, which made a significant difference, especially when I was putting on my makeup. As I laughed and pondered at this occurrence, the Holy spirit began teaching me the importance of the light we, as children of God, carry.

The Power of Prophetic Words

Today, I would like to share a testimony of an incident that happened on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019. We had just gone for a conference in the United States of America and were returning back home. The flight was full and as such, myself and my husband were not able to get seats next to each other. He was seated just a seat behind mine, in the middle seat. As the flight progressed, I felt a bit uncomfortable but ignored it. Within a short interval, I started feeling extremely hot, and I mean hot! Then I started sweating profusely. I assumed maybe I just needed to rest but all of a sudden, I started feeling extremely weak.

Carved in God's DNA

Romans 8:29 says before we were born, God already knew us and in advance, carved us in the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ. Genesis 2:26 also confirms this truth when it mentioned that we are made in the image and likeness of God (God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). Remember that in the mouth of two or three witnesses, the truth is confirmed. This is such a mind boggling truth as it reveals our true identity in Christ. Halleluyah!! Romans 8:29 further expands on what that means by saying “This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family or brothers and sister who will become just like Him”.  What does this mean for us?

The Moving Walkway

I was travelling sometime ago and while at the airport, I took note of the moving walkway, which some travellers make use of, especially while travelling with heavy luggage. On the moving walkway, you can either stand or walk on it. However, if you decide to walk on it, you will notice that you will get to the end of the walkway faster than someone outside the walkway that is also walking. I was so intrigued when I observed this and as I pondered on it, the Holy Spirit started a lovely teaching moment

Run to Win- Part 3

On the last blog post, Run to Win- Part 2, we explored some emotional attacks that the enemy uses in distracting a person from running with their God-given vision and how we need to be ready to fight and defend that vision, until it comes to fruition. As humans, we are spirit beings, that have a soul and live in a body. The soul realm is made of the intellect, will and emotions. Emotional attacks are attacks on the soul.

This week, we will explore attacks focused on the body. This attack is a distraction to either slow down stop a person from running or attaining the prize set before them. Let’s examine what Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:25 & 27, emphasis on verse 27.

Run to Win- Part 2

If you have ever been involved in playing archery, the bullseye is the specific target that the player wants to hit with their arrows. It would seem so silly if a person fires an arrow and wherever it lands, they then draw a bullseye around it. I’m sure we can  definitely agree that such a person would be disqualified from the game. But funnily enough, many people live their lives in a similar manner.

Run to Win!- Part 1

It has been said that we must compete with ourselves and not others. You compete with the good, better and best of yourself. You compete with your past, present and future self. Who will  you allow to win?

No Sound. No Words.

When I came across these verses, especially verse three and four, I had to go back and read it again because it sounded contradictory. Hmmm, did I just read: “no speech, no words; their voice not heard; yet their voice has gone out throughout all the earth and their words to the end of the world”? How is that possible if they have no sound or words? As I continued to ponder this mystery, the Holy spirit began to explain and expand on what this meant.

Shut the Door!

You may have come across the half-full/half-empty glass of water expression, which denotes a person’s perspective as either optimistic or pessimistic respectively.  Sometimes, we are faced with different situations in life that may be beyond our control; but how we respond to such situations is dependent on us- our worldview is voluntary.

Just A "Little"

Have you been in a conversation with someone that took longer than expected? Despite the several signals you emitted to end the conversation, they just didn’t get it, and instead, continued with an an entirely new subject. This was the case with Paul in Acts 20:7-9 (TPT).
