No Sound. No Words.

We were studying Psalm 19 during our family devotion and during the time of meditation, I came across verses 2-4 (Amplified) which  utterly blew my mind.

“1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God;

And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.

2 Day after day pours forth speech,

And night after night reveals knowledge.

3 There is no speech, nor are there [spoken] words [from the stars];

Their voice is not heard.

4 Yet their voice [in quiet evidence] has gone out through all the earth,

Their words to the end of the world.

In them and in the heavens He has made a tent for the sun,”

When I came across these verses, especially verse three and four, I had to go back and read it again because it sounded contradictory. Hmmm, did I just read: “no speech, no words; their voice not heard; yet their voice has gone out throughout all the earth and their words to the end of the world”? How is  that possible if they have no sound or words? As I continued to ponder this mystery, the Holy spirit began to explain and expand on what this meant.

Sometimes, I stop in my tracks and just reflect  on the amazement of God’s creation. I’m stunned by its beauty; how things are perfectly arranged and aligned; how seasons run in a cycle, yet during winter in Canada, it is summer in New Zealand- what an amazing contrast! It keeps me in constant wonder as to how a brilliant God has been  so intentional in every step in creation. He is the biggest recycler of all, ensuring there is no waste. For example, carbon dioxide which we so casually exhale as waste , is inhaled by plants for their growth, while they exhale their “waste” as oxygen, which we inhale into our lungs. I’m amazed by the different plants we are surrounded with and the diverse birds that fly in the air, yet they are all taken care of God, the Most High. Yes, I may not necessarily hear the audible words or sounds from all these elements of creation, yet they speak about the awesomeness of this God I serve: The God who is purposeful in every step, He  is intentional about you and I. The Creator who is brilliant, wise and creative with ideas that eyes have not seen, hears have not heard neither has it come to the hearts of men. The Father who cares for generations now and many more to come, thereby putting a process of creation that is sustainable from foundation. Through their display of God’s craftsmanship, their message spreads for all the world to see , including an observer like me.

Sometimes, we get sidetracked by trying to be “heard” by struggling to fulfil our purpose, as compared to fulfilling our God-given purpose, which eventually causes us to be heard by the world. It may seem like it’s the same thing but it is not. Fulfilling our purpose is primary and “being heard” is secondary. Sometimes, we drift by majoring in the minor (secondary) as compared to majoring in the major (primary).

Learning to FOCUS ensures such mistakes in life  do not happen or corrects our paths when we sidetrack. The moment we focus on our primary assignment on this earth,  just like creation that doesn’t strive to be heard, yet their message goes around the world; God will ensure that our voice is heard and not silenced. King Solomon is an example of a person in the beginning of his life that understood this concept. When God appeared to him in a dream and asked what he wants, he said:

“So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge and rule this Your great people?” (1 Kings 3:9, AMPC)

Wow, this statement made by King Solomon truly impressed God, such that God decided not only to give him his request but added icing to the cake by including much more as depicted in  1 Kings 3: 13-14 AMPC

“13 I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings equal to you all your days.

14 And if you will go My way, keep My statutes and My commandments as your father David did, then I will lengthen your days.”

The beginning of King Solomon’s life is a true depiction of Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (NLT).   As he focused on ruling God’s people with wisdom, God placed honor over his life. His  “voice” was heard around the world, to such an extent that Queen Sheba came from her land to see and hear the wisdom operational in the life of King Solomon and left overwhelmed. (1 Kings 10).

Just like a forest that catches on fire, it first starts with a little fire, but as it keeps burning, it eventually becomes a wildfire, assisted by the wind to propagate what it’s doing. Let God be that wind that blows His work in you into a wildfire.

As long as God is the divine wind blowing over the wildfire of your life, you are guaranteed that your wildfire will be sustained; but without having Him in your life, it is only  a matter of time before that wildfire is extinguished. To keep this fire burning, you need to have Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. If you would like to make that decision today, please say this prayer:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and I believe You died for me on the cross of Calvary. I know I am a sinner and today, I come to You to forgive me of all my sins and to make me a brand new creation. I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank you Lord for forgiving me and making me born again, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Congratulations!!!! You are now born-again! (It simply means a new born baby in Christ and there is a great celebration in heaven right now because of YOU!)

If you made this decision, I would love to hear from you today! Please leave a comment on this post or reach out to me at https://www.cccghq.org/contact/
