The Core

There was a certain workout my personal trainer asked me to perform, which I was finding very challenging completing. As she observed my struggle with it,  she asked me to stop and revealed why I was finding it so challenging. She mentioned that such exercise requires my core muscles to be strengthened. Without the core muscles being strengthened, there were some exercises that I would find challenging to complete because of their dependence on the core strength. Our body’s core is the center of our gravity, that provides stamina and balance. A weakened core means weakened stamina and balance.

Many get into a relationship, some even leading into marriage with the expectation that the other will fill the void they have or complete them and this is ultimately tied to their identity consciously or unconsciously. It is easy for our identity to be tied to what we do (our job, business, career), what we have achieved, who we are with (our network, relationship partner, friends), what we have (money, fame, influence, children) but our true identity, which is our core, is meant to be built on Jesus Christ. Our identity, which is the foundation of who we are and our self-worth, needs to be on a solid foundation. An identity built on what we do, what we have achieved, who we are with, what we have is an unsustainable, shaky foundation, which can easily change without notice but knowing who we are in Christ Jesus, is a solid foundation that is immovable. No human is built to satisfy any spiritual, emotional, mental or physical void or need we may have. If you are in any relationship, including marriage and your identity is not based on who Christ says you are, you will end up being frustrated, resenting him/her and eventually passing the blame to your partner because they are not doing something right. It might seem to make sense to you because of all the “flaws” you believe they have and if only fixed, that should solve all the problems you’ve been experiencing but I have news for you, it’s an illusion. Just like a mirage that as you get closer to, it gets more distant, that’s the same way a shaky foundation will never fill that void you have in your relationship. It takes you searching and meditating on scriptures that speak of who you are in Christ. These scriptures have to move from your head knowledge to your heart, where you know that you know that you are His and you carry Him in you. For example, when you know that you know, that you are the apple of His eyes (Zechariah 2:8) and you are a treasured possession of God (Deuteronomy 7:6), you will not be moved when thoughts of you not being loved by your spouse comes to mind. Instead, your spiritual core strength would have been built to overcome such contrary thoughts and instead, you will stand on the truth of the word of God that you are loved by God.  When your spiritual core is built and strengthened, you gain spiritual stamina and balance, which also affects your emotional and mental stamina (Remember we are spirit beings, hence the spiritual controls our physical realm). It is time for us to strengthen our spiritual core, to obtain spiritual stamina and balance.

In order to walk confidently in who we are in Christ, it takes our DNA fusing with the DNA of Jesus Christ and the only way to do so is by giving our heart and life to Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. To do so, please say this prayer with me:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you are the Son of God and I believe You died for me on the cross of Calvary. I know I am a sinner and today, I come to You to forgive me for all my sins and to make me a brand new creation. I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank you, Lord, for forgiving me and making me born again, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Congratulations!!!! You are now born-again! This means you share the same DNA as Jesus Christ and, because of you, there is a great celebration in heaven right now!

If you made this decision, I would love to hear from you today! Please leave a comment on this post or reach out to me at https://www.cccghq.org/contact-us
